Pipe Envy won't be an issue!

OK - this thing is massive - meaning tall. Taller than the photos by a long way, so I'm guessing there's a range of sizes - but mine is taller above the shank than the photo and has almost as much stock below the stem as the photo shows as being above the stem, if that makes any sense. If it's too tall, cut it down. I'm even thinking of getting one of the bent models and making my own "churchwarden cob" which would be great fun! The description says the stem is bamboo, which I don't think is accurate at all. If it said, "it sorta LOOKS like bamboo"...well...I'm not sure that works either, cause it doesn't look like it to me. Be that as it may, be warned...this thing is HUGE! You don't get an accurate sense of the true size from the photos. OH...and, of course, it smokes like a dream! Any tobacco that will take to a stack will do wonders in this beast!

This is arguably the best pipe I've ever smoked. Arguably because the Freehand is as good but different in being a bit heavier with a shorter stack and shank. The MacArthur's longer stem lends coolness to the smoke. The natural version's finish adds much to that coolness. For some reason, the total configuration lets the pipe smoke like a dream. The MacArthurs work well with any tobacco and make burley a worthy competitor with Virginia or English blends. Mac's public place in history is overshadowed by his invention of this ingeniously designed, magnificent smoking instrument. Mars' superlative service and its low prices for these pipes make them a must for any smoker seeking the holy grail.
