A good first

This pipe is an excellent pipe to get into smoking with. It's large enough that you can enjoy a full bowl with, but not so large that you get bored. The price rocks too.

The Missouri Pride is something of a sleeper. the bowl is not as large as that in some other MM corncobs, but it's large enough for a good smoke. It's most fetching feature is that the bowl is left in its natural state which multiplies its ability to dissipate heat and moisture over cobs taken down to a smooth finish. It does not come with a hardwood plug at the bottom of the chamber. My Pride began to burn out there. At $2.25 from Mars, it would have made sense to toss it and get another. However, I followed John Patton's technique using Pipe Mud, which can be found at http://pipedia.org/index.php?title=The_Complete_Corncob_primer It is a lasting repair and works like a charm.
